Specific Google services, including Gmail and Workspace, were temporarily unavailable on Monday, affecting users worldwide, including those in India. Almost 60% of individuals on downdetector.com, a website that records outages, reported problems with the Google website, while 35% experienced login troubles.
When some users’ accounts were briefly inaccessible, they received a temporary error (500).
People took to Twitter to complain about the unavailability of Google services.
“So Google is unavailable to everyone? I can’t access any of my personal or business gmail accounts, and I can’t use any of the AI gadgets “One user commented.
Google services, such as Gmail, had gradually begun to return to life for some users.
The corporation was yet to remark on the cause of the outage.
Google experienced a service outage last week that affected Gmail users globally, causing problems when synchronising emails with Microsoft servers through the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP).
Gmail users reported not getting emails and having trouble synchronising their Hotmail accounts.
The firm accepted the claims and stated that it was looking into the matter.
“IMAP syncs with Microsoft servers are failing, creating Gmail sync difficulties. We presently believe that the problem solely affects individuals that synchronise their email from Outlook servers “Google stated.
Our technical research has so far shown no issues with Gmail application authentication, and we are continuing to explore further for the core cause the firm wrote in an update.
