Apple Vision Pro Headset Launch Expected in February, Analyst Predicts

Apple is preparing to launch its next major product, Vision Pro, which was first shown at WWDC 2023. The Vision Pro will be available for purchase in select markets beginning in late January or early February, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities.

Kuo also predicts that Apple will ship 50,000 Vision Pro headsets in 2024, with mass production beginning in January. According to a similar Bloomberg report, the Vision Pro headsets will be manufactured at Apple’s China facility.

Unfortunately, Apple’s Vision Pro will not be available in India when it first becomes available. According to a Bloomberg report, the device will first be available in the United States, and the company is also said to have created special experience zones at various Apple Stores in major cities such as New York and Los Angeles.

The Vision Pro will be one of the most expensive consumer-centric VR headsets, priced at $3,500 (approximately Rs 3,00,000), but it will also be one of the most capable, powered by the M2 chip, which also powers select MacBooks and the iPad Pro lineup.

Despite its higher price, Vision Pro is likely to usher in a new era in the consumer electronics industry. While brands such as Meta have been offering standalone VR headsets for some time, the Vision Pro takes it to the next level with previously unseen features.

However, it is still expected to be a niche product, and according to a DigiTimes Asia report, Apple is already working on a next-generation Vision Pro, which is expected to be cheaper and more capable and to debut by 2025.
