ChatGPT Faces Momentary Outage Due to Server Problems

The ChatGPT outage caused many users to migrate to the X platform. However, services resumed shortly after.

ChatGPT, OpenAI’s GPT-powered chatbot, experienced a massive outage on both mobile and desktop on Thursday at noon. According to several reports on platforms such as X (previously Twitter), users on Android smartphones and desktop computers were unable to access ChatGPT, receiving an error message stating, “the server is having a problem, please try again later.”

According to Downdetector, more than 600 users have reported problems with ChatGPT. There have also been reports that some users can access ChatGPT on Android. Currently, there is no information on what caused this outage.

Due to the outage, some users were unable to access their previous ChatGPT chats on both mobile and desktop devices. This could be attributed to an increase in user traffic following the launch of the GPT Store, and this is ChatGPT’s first major outage this year.

ChatGPT launched its much-anticipated GPT Store yesterday, allowing GPT+ subscribers to publish custom GPTs built on top of GPT-4. It also allows developers to monetize their custom GPTs, which currently have over 3 million GPTs.

In addition, the company has introduced a new ChatGPT Team subscription, which provides access to all ChatGPT Plus features for $25 per user, per month, with a minimum of two users. Compared to ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Team has a higher message cap, an admin console, advanced data analytics, and guarantees that OpenAI will not use your data to train future ChatGPT models.
