Microsoft-backed startup OpenAI has announced the release of GPT-4, the latest version of its popular AI ChatGPT.
Successor to the GPT-3.5, the GPT-4 large language model accepts image inputs in addition to text inputs. Microsoft-owned OpenAI has announced its new large multimodal model “GPT-4” which accepts image and text inputs.
“We’ve created GPT-4, the latest milestone in OpenAI’s effort in scaling up deep learning,” the company said in a blogpost on Tuesday.
We spent 6 months iteratively aligning GPT-4 using lessons from our adversarial testing programme as well as ChatGPT, resulting in our best-ever factuality, steerability, and refusal to go outside of guardrails results.
GPT-4 outperforms existing large language models (LLMs), including most state-of-the-art (SOTA) models which may include benchmark-specific construction or additional training methods.
GPT-4 can generate, edit, and iterate with users on artistic and technical writing tasks such as music composition, screenplay authoring, and understanding a user’s writing style.
Specifically, it generates text outputs (natural language, code, etc.) given inputs consisting of interspersed text and images. Across a range of domains—including papers containing text and images, diagrams, or screenshots—GPT-4 demonstrates comparable capabilities as it does on text-only inputs.
“In the 24 of 26 languages tested, GPT-4 outperforms the English-language performance of GPT-3.5 and other LLMs (Chinchilla, PaLM), including for low-resource languages such as Latvian, Welsh, and Swahili,” the company said.
The company has also been using this new model internally, with great impact on functions like support, sales, content moderation and programming.
In contrast to the text-only default, this model may accept a request with both text and graphics, allowing users to select any vision or language task.
With the successful distribution of its popular artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT, the Microsoft-backed startup OpenAI has started releasing a new strong AI model GPT-4. Commonly known as the successor to ChatGPT, GPT-4, a human-like technology, is more creative and collaborative.
