Linda Yaccarino, CEO of the X platform, revealed that the platform will soon receive native calling features, allowing X platform users to interact with one other via audio or video chats without leaving the app.
Elon Musk’s microblogging platform will soon support audio and video calling. According to the source code of X, formerly known as Twitter, the platform will soon have native calling features on both Android and iOS smartphones. And, as expected, these capabilities would likely stay available only to X premium subscribers.
Internet-based calling apps and services have grown in popularity in recent years. Indeed, practically all of the major social media sites, such as Instagram and Facebook, enable free audio and video chats, and X Corp is planning to implement the same on its microblogging platform.
CEO Linda Yaccarino announced in August that the platform will soon receive native calling capabilities, allowing X platform users to interact with one another via voice or video chats without leaving the app. Linda further mentioned that customers will be able to make these calls without giving their phone numbers, providing them with an additional layer of anonymity.
There at present no official confirmation on when this feature will be offered to users.
Elon Musk has also stated that X is more than just a microblogging app; it is a super software that can accomplish a variety of tasks. Aside from native calling, X is expected to introduce a native payment capability to the platform, allowing users to send and receive money within the app.
Elon Musk has stated that premium customers will soon be able to submit videos with up to 4K resolution on the site. This, along with the recently disclosed monetization option, provides a plethora of reasons for customers to choose X Premium, which costs Rs 900 per month in India.
