The owner of the popular chatbot, OpenAI, announced on Tuesday that ChatGPT is now accessible to Android users in Brazil, the United States, India, and Bangladesh. OpenAI is hoping to capitalise on the growing interest in artificial intelligence tools.

As AI is increasingly used for jobs like content creation and coding, San Francisco-based OpenAI last week introduced ChatGPT for Android in an effort to grow its user base.

The Sam Altman-led startup introduced ChatGPT in November of last year, and it has been accessible on Apple’s iOS system since May.

The ChatGPT phenomenon has sparked a wave of interest in AI, leading businesses like Microsoft and Google parent Alphabet to invest billions of dollars in the field.

Over the coming week, OpenAI plans to broaden the Android distribution to new nations.

Last week, the Sam Altman-led startup revealed that the Android version of its blockbuster chatbot would be available in the last week of July. Surprisingly, the Android App arrives at a time when ChatGPT has been dealing with claims of a traffic drop and poorer response times.

ChatGPT, a huge language model-based chatbot developed by OpenAI in November 2022, has wowed the globe with its remarkable capacity to provide human-like responses.

The chatbot’s tremendous adoption made it the fastest internet application to achieve 100 million users in the shortest amount of time – four months since its inception. It is based on GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 standards. GPT-4 is now only available to ChatGPT Plus users in India, who must pay Rs 1,999 per month.
