Twitter now known as 'X' launches audio, video features: How to use them

Elon Musk envisioned X (formerly Twitter) as an all-in-one app, similar to China’s WeChat. The platform will also offer two new premium plans. One with ads will cost less than the current $8/month. According to Musk, the more expensive option will not include advertisements.

X Video and Audio Calling Feature: After months of anticipation, Elon Musk’s X (formerly known as Twitter) has launched video and audio calling capabilities. Currently, these features are only available to X Premium (Twitter Blue) users on iOS, but X has indicated that Android support is on the way.

“We’re launching a new means of communication on X, Audio and Video Calling,” X said in a statement. Android users will soon be able to use audio and video calling, which is currently available on iOS.” This move into communication features is in line with X’s overarching objective of developing into a comprehensive platform for a range of interactions.

It’s crucial to remember that people who use X for free can still receive calls. Users can change their Direct Messaging settings to control who can contact them. Users can automatically accept calls from accounts they have in their address book or that they follow. There is one more prerequisite, though: in order to start a call, both parties need to have at least once exchanged direct messages.

How to Limit or Disable X’s Call Feature

X has provided a set of steps to disable or limit the audio and video calling features so that users have control over who can call them:

Go to the DM (Direct Message) area of X after opening it.

The settings icon is located in the upper right corner. To access the settings, simply tap on it.

X continues to move closer to its goal of becoming a full-featured communication platform with the addition of audio and video calling. It also has features for sharing videos, making calls, and even acting as a job portal with specific job listings on company profiles, though the latter feature has not yet been made available.
