According to research released by Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Tuesday, employees with AI skills and expertise should anticipate salary increases of more than 54%; the largest increases are expected to be seen by those in IT (65%) and research and development (62%).
This was based on a survey named “Accelerating AI Skills: Preparing the Asia-Pacific Workforce for Jobs of the Future” that Access Partnership conducted on behalf of AWS. The company claims that it polled 500 employers and over 1,600 employees in India.
97% of workers who responded to the survey said they thought having AI skills would help them advance in their careers and improve job efficiency. Additionally, 95% of workers said they would be interested in learning AI skills to further their careers. It appeared that this interest was cross-generational, as 95% of Gen Z workers, 96% of Millennial workers, and 93% of Gen X workers wanted to learn AI skills. Up to 90% of baby boomers stated that if an AI upskilling course was available, they would take it.
The Asia-Pacific region, including India, is being overtaken by the AI wave, which is changing how people work and how businesses run. According to our research, a rise in productivity will benefit society as a whole and result in higher wages for skilled workers in India.
