Meta has launched the new Instagram broadcast channels, a one-to-many messaging solution that will allow artists to communicate directly with their followers at scale.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg made the news via his own “Meta Channel” on the social networking site.
“Creators may also utilise voice notes to offer their newest developments and behind-the-scenes experiences, and even build polls to crowdsource fan feedback,” the business stated on Thursday in a blog post.
Further features will be introduced to these channels in the coming months, according to the business, including the opportunity to bring another creative into the channel to discuss prospective collaborations, crowdsource questions for a “ask me anything” session, and much more.
“After a creator has permission to broadcast channels and delivers the first message from their Instagram inbox, their followers will receive a one-time notice inviting them to join the channel,” it continued.
Furthermore, followers may quit or silence these channels at any moment, as well as regulate their creator alerts.
Instagram is introducing a new feature called broadcast channels, which allows users to send text or photo updates straight to followers. This is the latest move by Meta Platforms Inc. to improve the site.
