Users will be able to make new Shorts videos using comments from earlier videos they have viewed owing to this functionality.

YouTube Shorts, like its competitors TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram, offers an endless stream of material in a vertical feed. Google routinely experiments new features in an effort to enhance user engagement, similar to the standalone YouTube web and mobile apps.

One such new experiment, announced by the YouTube team, will soon be available to a limited number of Android and iOS users. Users will be able to use a comment from a video they are currently watching to create a new Shorts video with this functionality.

The help page contains further information about this experiment. This feature is characterised as “viewer-created Shorts with comments” on YouTube’s support website.

This feature is presently available to a small number of iOS and Android users. The creators, on the other hand, may not enjoy this feature.

To begin with, producers will have no say in the comments users choose to transform into videos. Furthermore, neither the creator nor the author of the comment will be alerted when a new video is created. Both the commenter and the creator are in the dark as a result of this. The only option for a creator to get out of this situation is to completely disable comments on their videos.
