Even though an increase in usage, Meta’s Twitter rival Threads has surpassed 150 million user sign-ups. Threads was released on July 5 for iOS and Android users in 100 countries, and it is currently one of the top free apps on the App Store.

Within seven days of its launch, the app had more than 150 million downloads worldwide, as reported by Data.ai.

It did so 5.5 times faster than the second-fastest to that point, Niantic’s Pokemon GO, which has held the largest app launch title since its debut in July 2016, according to the research.

According to recent data, Threads has earned the most user presence in specific areas, with India leading the way, accounting for around 32% of all downloads.

Following India is Brazil, which accounts for over 22% of Threads installations, and the United States, which accounts for nearly 16% of the total. Mexico, with 8% of downloads, and Japan, with 5%, round out the top five markets for Threads, according to the research.

Within five days of its inception, Threads had topped 100 million user sign-ups. The app had 2 million sign-ups in two hours, 10 million users in seven hours, and 30 million in 12 hours.
