It additionally works for group calls, allowing you to cooperate with colleagues or arrange a trip with friends.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has introduced a new WhatsApp feature that allows users to share their screen during a video call. The cross-platform functionality allows users to quickly provide a live view of their screen to one or more others on the call.

Whether you’re exchanging documents for business, browsing photos with family, planning a vacation or shopping online with friends, or simply assisting grandparents with tech support, WhatsApp’s news release states that screen sharing allows you to share a live view of your screen throughout the call.

Users must have the most recent versions of WhatsApp installed in order to access the function. During a video call, a new ‘Share’ icon will appear at the bottom of the screen. They will be asked to grant screen share access by tapping on it. The other party’s screen will then be transmitted to them.

Please keep in mind that the feature is being put out in stages. While some may have already seen it on WhatsApp, others may have to wait a little longer.

For video calls, the functionality also supports landscape mode. This is helpful when spreading the screen from desktop platforms to provide a more expansive and immersive viewing experience.

WhatsApp’s screen-sharing feature is also available for group calls. As a result, WhatsApp may become flexible in professional contexts. Users who previously relied on apps like Google Meet and Zoom for screen sharing can now do it with WhatsApp.
