After receiving user feedback on the original OnePlus Watch, the company claims to have gone back to the drawing board. Battery life was a major consideration; the Watch 2 promises 100 hours on a single charge when in “Smart Mode.”
However, battery life is not the only area receiving an upgrade. OnePlus boasts a premium design with a stainless steel body and a sapphire crystal display that should be scratch-resistant. It is inspired by the curves of the OnePlus 12 phone series and features a circular watch face.
The Watch 2 will be available in two fancy colors: black steel and radiant steel. OnePlus describes this as a true flagship smartwatch that exudes “understated luxury.”

This watch launch is part of OnePlus’s ongoing efforts to create a complete ecosystem of premium devices. In 2023, they will release the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 earbuds and OnePlus Pad tablet. They concluded by introducing the OnePlus Open foldable phone. And they launched 2024 with the flagship OnePlus 12 series.
The OnePlus Watch 2 was previously tipped to feature a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, and is expected to run WearOS 3 or WearOS 4. This is a major jump over the original OnePlus Watch that ran a proprietary operating system.
The OnePlus Watch 2 has returned after a three-year break and a contemplative period after the release of the Watch 1, and we are more optimistic than ever about this product. This confidence is not misplaced; rather, it is based on significant improvements in our technological capabilities and ecosystem. Watch 2 demonstrates our resolve to change from being a “Flagship Killer” to a “Ecosystem Builder.” You will gain experience from it that is not only enhanced but completely changed. said OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu.
