Apple iPhone users recently received a new WhatsApp update, which includes a new feature that has been requested for quite some time. WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is also used for video and audio calls in addition to messaging. WhatsApp’s latest iOS release includes widespread support for landscape style video calls. Video calls now support landscape mode, according to the official changelog.
Apple iPhone customers will now be able to enjoy WhatApp video conversations with a larger view and display, as the name implies. Aside from that, WhatApp is bringing out an ability to silence unknown callers, among other things. Unknown calls can now be silenced by navigating to Settings > Privacy > Calls.
When switching to a new device, the platform will also support natively transferring full account history. Navigate to Settings > Chats > Transfer Chats to iPhone to utilise this feature.
The new update also includes a redesigned sticker tray with improved navigation and a larger assortment of stickers, including additional Avatars.
According to the corporation, all of these functionalities will be available in the following weeks. On iOS, the messaging platform began widely rolling out a revamped UI with transparent bars-tab bar and navigation bar earlier this month.
On iOS, the Meta-owned platform was also releasing a new sticker and GIF picker.
Meanwhile, it was revealed last week that the company was releasing an iOS test functionality that allows users to start group calls with up to 15 individuals.
Group calls may already support up to 32 participants, however they could only be initiated with up to 7 persons. However, beta users can now initiate group calls with up to 15 people thanks to the new feature.
Earlier this month, the business reportedly began testing an iOS beta functionality that lets users to send high-quality film forms.
While this feature preserves video dimensions, minimal compression is still applied to the video, making it impossible to send videos in their original quality.
