According to rumours, Apple, a US-based tech giant, would release the Apple iPhone 17 Pro with under-panel Face ID in 2027. According to a recent source, it will continue to be exclusive to iPhones with the “Pro” model.
Ross Young, a display analyst, recently posted an updated roadmap to Twitter. According to him, the iPhone 17 Pro will be the first Apple product to include Face ID under the display. Young added that Apple would finally implement LTPO in 2025, giving even entry-level models 120Hz refresh rates.
Display analyst Ross Young predicts that the front-facing camera will still have a circular cutout along with the under-display “Face ID” technology, according to MacRumors.
The ‘Pro’ iPhone models, which will also embed the camera under the display for a complete “all-screen” experience, are expected to debut in 2027.
According to reports, Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro will be the first iPhone to use the under-display Face ID technology when it launches.
Furthermore, according to the report, Young’s original roadmap, published in May 2022, differs from this forecast. Previously, he predicted that the iPhone 16 Pro models released in 2024 would be the first to feature under-panel Face ID technology.
Young stated last month that the one-year delay was due to sensor issues. The two display cutouts that currently comprise the Dynamic Island are expected to remain unchanged across three ‘Pro’ iPhone generations.
According to the story, Young also said that ProMotion, which is now only offered on Apple’s high-end iPhones, will be included in the regular iPhone 17 models. Apple is apparently developing a 13.4-inch OLED-equipped MacBook Air model in the meanwhile.
According to Ross Young, the new model would have a little smaller display than the 13.6-inch LCD panel on the current MacBook Air.
