The latest version of Google Clock includes additional features such as the ability to display the weather forecast after alarms and alarm sync between phone and Pixel Watch.
Google recently introduced new functionality to its Clock app. The latest version of the programme (Clock v7.6) also features a weather forecast toggle and the ability to sync alarms with WearOS devices.
According to a post by Mishaal Rehman on X (previously Twitter), while setting up a new alarm, the Clock app displays a new option called ‘Weather Forecast,’ which displays the local weather information following the alert is dismissed.
However, the weather prediction appears to be visible for a small number of users that have the new Pixel Weather app preinstalled, implying that it is only available for Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro users running Android 14 QPR1 beta.
After you choose the ‘local weather on the clock’ option, the app will begin displaying weather data for several cities on the ‘World’ clock widget and the ‘Clock’ tab. While it is currently limited to the Pixel 8 series, Google is rumoured to make it available for Pixel 5a and newer with the December 2023 Pixel Feature Drop.
The tech titan has also included a ‘alarm sync option’ that allows you to sync alarms between your phone and Pixel Watch. According to Rehman, the feature is compatible with both the Pixel Watch on WearOS 3 and the Pixel Watch 2 on WearOS 4.
Users who have more than one watch connected to their phone can select which wearable they wish to sync alarms with and can use “Adaptive ringing” to choose whether to ring the phone and the watch or simply the wearable. The centering of the home clock suggests that Google has made some other UI adjustments. It had previously been positioned to the left of the screen.
